MOJO BARRIERS AT HOME FOR THE MTV EUROPE MUSIC AWARDS

Mojo Barriers supplied a complex crowd barrier layout for this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards (MTV EMA), as the ceremony headed to Netherland’s Ziggo Dome for the first time, 10th November 2013.

This year’s show featured performances from Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Kings of Leon and Eminem among many others and saw 17,000 fans descend upon the Amsterdam arena, where Mojo is a regular supplier.

Mojo Barriers worked closely with the venue and MTV’s production team providing 325 metres of its aluminium stage barrier. Over 160 metres were used to follow the shape of the main stage, B-stage and catwalk which replicated a giant spaceship in-line with set designer Florian Wieder’s intergalactic theme.

Elsewhere in the venue Mojo ensured the safe and smooth access of the crowds, installing 75 barriers at the Ziggo Dome’s entrance, complete with four line-up gates. The glamorous red carpet area was kept segregated from the main space by a further 90 units.

Erwin Sprengers, manager at Mojo Barriers Benelux, comments: “We’ve worked with the MTV EMAs on previous events and it’s always a great show to work on, constantly pushing creative boundaries. It’s extra special happening in our home country though, in a fantastic new venue which we have come to know well since it opened 18 months ago.”
