FestivalsApril 2007 - Mojo Barriers Keep the spring in their step
Mojo Barriers Netherlands office has supplied barriers to two very different events this spring.

The notorious Gumball Rally saw 120 of the most amazing cars, rockstars, supermodels, billionaires and eccentrics set off for the ride of their lives this April, leaving London, UK and for their first stop they roared into Amsterdam’s Waterloo Plein. The Amsterdam authorities insisted that the organisers used Mojo Barriers to keep the audience at a safe distance from the cars at the finish line at the end of day one. Mojo’s project manager Erwin Sprengers and his team installed 300m of Mojo Barriers with minimum disruption to the public areas ready for the race .

Queensday 2007Also in Amsterdam, but with a rather more sophisticated air to proceedings, Mojo Barriers provided Radio 538 with 375m of Aluminium Mojo barriers for the Queens Day celebrations on the Museum Plein. Events take place all over Holland on the national holiday, with the event in Amsterdam attracting over 1 million people to experience the mixture of the parades, concerts, theatrical displays and street entertainment. Boats with all genres of music lined the canal as fireworks lit the skies of Amsterdam. Mojo also supplied 110m of plastic bar barriers to keep the good natured crowds refreshed.

The advantage of the Mojo Barrier over the police style fence often associated with public events is the increased pressure loading it can withstand and the absence of any ‘trap points’, where members of the public can get fingers and legs caught in when the crowds push against the barriers. Mojo Barriers are designed so that they also provide a secure raised step for the police and stewards to monitor the crowd and reach into the audience to helped distressed people in large crowds.
