2007 - Mojo Barriers works on MEXX’s bloom with a view
Mojo Barriers were on hand to help when the family fashion giant MEXX wanted to say thank you to Amsterdam in style this October.
The event celebrated 21 years of successful trading in the city and the relaunch of MEXX’s flagship store in Amsterdam’s fashionable Kalverstraat. The retailer commissioned a remarkable piece of temporary art by illustrator Piet Paris, a tapestry of colour woven in fresh flowers in Dam Square, just round the corner from the store.
The 1,500 square metre illustration, ‘Hip Lady in a Dress’, used 105,000 blooms and was protected from the trampling of wayward feet by 130 metres of stylish, black aluminium barrier, supplied by the Netherlands-based event barrier specialist, Mojo Barriers. The production expertise behind the installation was provided by Garage Creations, while the many thousands of gerberas, chrysanthemums and roses were given away to crowds of delighted shoppers when the installation was brought to a close.
