One of the UK’s most iconic mid range venues, the Cambridge Corn Exchange, has demonstrated its commitment to artists, audience and crew safety by investing in 16 metres of Mojo Barriers’ aluminium front of stage barrier.
“All health and safety aspects of our venue are under constant review,” says Chris Norton, technical manager, of the Cambridge Corn Exchange. “Our licensing conditions stipulate that we have to have a crowd barrier for stand up rock shows, and we proactively looked for the best system to comply with this.” Chris chose Mojo Barriers’ system after first hand experience of using it at the Cambridge Folk Festival, where he is one of the organisers, and recommendation by the in-house security team. “Mojo Barriers came tried, tested and approved by almost everyone I spoke to,” he says. “We have acts where young audience members come over the barrier regularly and we need a good pit area where we can safely handle them. The security team are very happy with the improvement to the working area behind the barrier.” As well as safety, the barrier system offers the flexibility of different configurations for different events, allowing the use of camera runs for televised or filmed events. Kevin Thorborn, UK Manager for Mojo Barriers, ensured the efficient delivery of the project. Pictured, left to right: Chris Norton and Kevin Thorborn For venue information visit www.cornex.co.uk. |
